Bandwidth Management Systems

Organizations using fleets of terminals can realize significant savings in satellite bandwidth costs and improve efficiency utilizing Bandwidth Management.

On Call can design, build and monitor a managed bandwidth system to automate allocation of bandwidth to remote units.  Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) frequencies can be dynamically assigned to each remote based on each site’s unique requirements.   Frequencies are assigned for immediate communication needs and then released back into the available pool of space when the communication is terminated.

The advantage of assigning SCPC frequencies to each remote ensures high quality and maximum speed transmissions for each application.  SCPC frequencies do not share resources with other remotes - ensuring top performance for each unit.  Because frequencies are assigned dynamically, each remote only occupies the space for the duration of the action, freeing up space to other remotes.  Idle remotes therefore do not slow down the transmissions of active ones.  This interactive capability increases satellite efficiency and improves client service.

Bandwidth can be managed based on Quality of Service (QoS) priorities, Type of Service (ToS), or automated load switching.   Monitoring and control can be accomplished from a single location tracking usage, status and alarms for the various remotes.
